People Who Help Us
Senior Infants have had a great start to the new year! We have been very busy over the last two weeks learning about People Who Help Us in our Community. Firstly, we learned how to take care of our pets and all about the role of a Veterinarian. We had some interesting operations taking place in the Veterinarian Clinic. All stuffed animals survived thanks to our experienced surgeons.
We also figured out how we could create a river in the sand area for the animals. The pets looked fantastic after a visit to the Groomers in the water area. Finally, we created animals using Play-dough in the Fine Motor Area.
This week, we have been very lucky to have Mr. Lalor in to teach us! We have been learning all about Transport and Time.
Here is a look at what they’ve been up to in Aistear this week:
Role Play: The Train Station
Sand Area: Sorting transport and creating a train scene from the story ‘The Train Ride”.
Small World: Creating a train track
Fine Motor Area: Creating transport out of playdough
Arts and Crafts: Creating transport scenes using 2D shapes, cotton wool and lollipop sticks
After a week long learning of how to tell the time, we are very good at looking at the clock (when the big hand is pointing at twelve) and telling you what time it is!
Here are some of the fun activities Senior Infants got up to this week!
