All about Space
For the month of November, we have been and will be learning about Space in SESE. In geography we have been looking at the Earth’s movement in Space and the various planets in our solar system.
After learning about the Earth, we created a fact file in our copies including some of the things we learnt including the revolution and rotation of the Earth, the Earth’s axis and how the seasons depend on what way the Earth is facing! We also drew a diagram to show how the Earth orbits the sun!
In history, we have been learning about Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon and the important events in his life. We watched a video of him landing on the moon and learnt his famous quote: “thats one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”
Next week we will be learning about Apollo 11 and Yuri Gagarin, the first man in Space!
In art we created Space landscapes using chalk, oil pastels and white paint, they turned out FABULOUS.
Next week we will be making papier mache planets!
