This month in science we are looking at all things sound.
After learning about Alexander Graham Bell in history, we learnt that he played a very significant part in the topic of sound as he invented the telephone!
We decided to live like Bell and create our own telephones in order to investigate how sound travels. Each group got some paper cups and string, which we used to create our telephones.
After messing around with our paper cup telephones, we noticed that the sound is transmitted more clearly when the string is short and pulled tight.
We had lots of fun listening to each other speak into the cup phones and it was so interesting to see how our sound vibrations travelling along the string in our phones!!
