Sixth class learned all about Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, which is a traditional Mexican holiday, celebrating and honouring those who have departed. It is believed that the spirit of the dead visit their families on October 31st and leave on November 2nd.
Dia de los Muertos Skulls, or calavera are a very important symbol of Day of the Dead. Sixth class recreated these skull masks and they turned out great!
Sticking on topic, we had great fun baking tombstone cupcakes. Sixth class worked together and followed simple instructions to bake them! Although some didn’t turn out quite as planned, not one cupcake went in the bin!! 🙂 Casper, Ellen and Sukhpreet are now experts at baking cupcakes! Thank you to Conor, Anna-Sophia and Hannah for being our Master Bakers for the day!
They looked and tasted great! Well done!
Hope you all have a wonderful mid-term break!
