Our trip to Edinburgh
On Tuesday morning we met bright and early at Dublin airport to go on our school tour to Edinburgh. We were all VERY excited to go on a plane with our friends. We arrived in Edinburgh around 8am and we went straight for breakfast in the Mercure hotel. It was delicious. Some of us even tried haggis for the first time!
After breakfast it was time to visit Camera Obscura where we saw some really cool illusions. There was one illusion where it looked like your head was on a plate and there was a vortex tunnel where it felt like you were spinning around upside down.
Once we were finished in Camera Obscura we went to explore Edinburgh Castle. When we were there we did a fun quiz where we had to walk around the castle grounds to find the answers. We’re not really sure who enjoyed it most the kids or the parents:)
Our last stop was to visit the Christmas markets but before this we went to Frankie and Bennys diner for a delicious lunch. At the Christmas markets we went on some of the rides and bought some things in the markets.
After the markets we headed straight for the airport. Our flight landed back that night at 9pm we were all VERY tired but delighted with the whole day. It was a trip we will never forget.
Thank you to Mr.O’Shea for all his hard work planning the trip and to Reverend Lesley and the parents for coming along with us.
