Assembly of Pupils:

  • The school is open for pupils from 8:15am to 2pm. Children are not insured to be on the school premises outside of these hours. Parents will be sent reminders of this over the course of the school year by email.
  • At 8.15am the first bell rings and all children may enter the school. Ms Atkin, Liz Adamson and a member of the SET Team will supervise the children as they enter the school premises from 8:15am to 8:25am.
  • Two members of the SET Team will open and remain at the back gate from 8:15am to 8:25am.
  • Please ensure that children are dropped off promptly between 8:15am and 8:25am. Children are late if they arrive after the bell rings at 8:25am.
  • All gates are locked promptly at 8:25am to safeguard the children whose parents have handed them into our care, on time. The school does not have a duty of care towards children that are not inside the school by 8:25am.
  • All supervising staff have designated duties throughout the classrooms from 8.25am. If there is an emergency which prevents you from having your child in school on time, please call Liz Adamson before you arrive, at 01-8331554 and she will come down to the inner gate and let your child in at her earliest convenience.
  • All late arrivals are recorded. Parents will be sent an email to inform them that their child was marked late. The rolla is taken each morning at approx 10am. Any pupil not present at this time will be marked absent for the day.

Dismissal of Pupils:

  • Infants finish school at 1.00pm and file out from their rooms in an orderly manner, accompanied by their class teachers, using their designated exit doors.
  • Parents wait in the yard and the teacher’s hand over the children into their care, child by child. After this, the front gate is promptly closed by Ms Atkin to ensure the safety of all the children still in the school.
  • All other classes finish school at 2:00pm and file out from their rooms in an orderly manner, accompanied by their class teachers, using their designated exit doors. Parents wait in the yard and the teacher’s hand over the children into their care, child by child. After this, the front gate is promptly closed by Ms Atkin to ensure the safety of all the children still in the school.
  • Every parent must complete a ‘Child Profile Form’ with the exact details of their child’s collection arrangements. The teachers will follow this. Any deviations from this must be written in the child’s homework journal. Teachers take note of this and act accordingly. Emails/phone calls with changes to collection arrangements will not be accepted.
  • Please ensure that children are collected promptly at 1pm and 2pm as there is no facility to take care of your child outside of official school hours.  After school hours your child is your own responsibility. Teachers must return to their classrooms after 1pm (Infants) and 2pm (all others) to continue their work. It is not their responsibility to take care of children who are not collected on time.
