booklists

Booklist Costs for September 2018 are available here. Books will be available for collection on Monday 20th August from 9:30am to 12:30pm. If you are not available on the 20th, the books will be placed in your child's classroom ready for September 3rd.

Payment can be made anytime between now and the 20th of August using the aladdin app or using your ePayment access link. Click here if you have misplaced or deleted the link.

Junior Infant Children do not have to pay for books. The Registration Fee included the Booklist Fee. The Registration Fee paid for older children joining the school will go towards the Booklist Fee.

The school has covered all books. Any books on loan or on school funding must be kept in a good condition as they need to be re-used from year to year. It is very disappointing that due to lack of care books have to be discarded and replaced.

Dear Parent,

The NPC are currently working on a new project with Trinity College that is aimed at working in partnership with parents to support their children's learning about computer coding. Before the supports are fully developed Trinity would like some information from you as parents and your children about your current level of knowledge, familiarity and confidence with computer technology, so that they can develop materials that will make a difference. We would really appreciate it if you and your child/children would complete the surveys (links below).

As these are surveys developed by Trinity College they have to follow the University's ethical code for research so you will notice a longer than usual introduction to the survey and some consent questions. Please bear with this process as it is an essential component of university research I am afraid!

If you have any questions please contact me. The closing date for the surveys is the 6th of July 2018.

Thank you for your assistance with this project.

Kind regards

Michelle Davern

Saturday 16 June 2018 - National College of Ireland - 10.30am-4pm

All parents are welcome to attend, ADMISSION IS FREE and lunch is provided

Our Keynote Speaker is Tako Rietveld from the Netherlands with his presentation Making the voice of young people heard.

Tako Rietveld is the world’s first and only 'Youth Correspondent'.
Children look at the world from a different perspective than adults. They have their own unique thoughts, views and opinions. With Tako’s help, we can learn from the children and act on it. He will take us on his journey into the world of young people. With powerful examples he will show young people are more than just happy creatures that like to play. 'Children inspire, surprise, make you think and make you smile. Adults teach children all about life. Children teach adults what life is all about.

As a former reporter for the Dutch NOS 'Jeugdjournaal' Tako has travelled all over the world reporting for children about the various situations in the world. Tako set-up the ‘De Kindercorrespondent’ platform so that the stories and the opinions of children can be heard. According to Tako children are too rarely heard in the news. He won’t stop until the voice of every child is being heard.

Other speakers include the Minister for Education and Skills, Mr. Richard Bruton T.D, Paul Gilligan CEO of St. Patrick's Mental Health Services and a spokesperson from the Ombudsman for Children's Office.

Information stands will be available on the day from information providers and companies.
