CHRISTMAS SERVICE 2017

For Health and Safety reasons, the Christmas Service will be split into two. A Senior Christmas Service (3rd – 6th Class Children and Parents) and a Junior Christmas Service (Junior Infant – 2nd Class Children and Parents).

Both Services will take place on Friday 22nd December. The Senior Service will take place from 8:45am-9:30am. Senior Children may be dropped directly to the church. Senior Children will walk back to school once the service has finished. The Junior Service will take place from 10:30am-11:15am. Junior Children will walk to the church and back to school after where they can be collected at 12pm. NO SCHOOLBAGS on the day and lunch/drinks should be provided in disposable containers.

If your child is in Junior Infants, please let their teacher know if he/she will not be at the Church for the Nativity play, as she will need to readjust the parts.

Please Note: the church will remain empty between the Senior and Junior Christmas services.

SANTA VISIT GREENLANES

Santa will visit Greenlanes on Thursday 21st December. This year, only Junior and Senior Infant children will exchange Kris Kringle gifts.  Junior and Senior Infant Teachers will draw a name and give to each child to bring in a Kris Kringle present, which will be placed under the Christmas Tree in the classroom. Santa will pass the gifts out when he visits. Please send in a wrapped present (no later than Monday 18th so that we can supplement any presents missing) labelled for the named child to the value of €5.

All classes will have a small Christmas party when Santa arrives. Children may bring in one small treat for themselves to eat at the party.

NO CHRISTMAS PRESENTS FOR TEACHERS

We would like to remind you that The Board of Management, together with The Parents Association, have come to a joint decision that there are no longer individual presents to be bought for any staff member at Christmas. Although everyone is extremely grateful for these gifts, the reality is the majority of families cannot afford the extra cost and this results in a lot of the children getting very upset when they see others presenting the teacher with a gift and they don't have anything to give.

CALENDARS

I work with a group of local volunteers called ‘North Dublin Animal Rescue’, who are dedicated to the rescue and re homing of stray and abandoned cats and dogs. We provide all veterinary care needed by these animals until they can be fostered and then hopefully adopted. We are selling calendars for 2018 for €6 or two for €10 to help with the costs of helping so many unwanted, dumped and abused animals.
