Fundraiser for Updated Security Arrangements

Picture34.png

The Board of Management and the Parents’ Association regard security at Greenlanes NS to be of utmost importance.

Following a recent incident where a bike was stolen from the school premises a review of the school’s security arrangements was undertaken in the interests of all pupils, staff and parents.

This has resulted in expenditure of €3,440.44 being incurred on improved intercom, access / exit control pads at gates and at the school itself, new locks and gate repairs, all outside of the school’s operating budget.

As an additional measure bicycle racks were relocated to the rear of the school building.

The Board of Management and the Parents’ Association have decided to launch a special appeal to parents to cover this unforeseen expenditure.

All donations, irrespective of size will be gratefully received. Parents can donate online by funds transfer into account: Bank of Ireland Killester , BIC: BOFIIE2D, IBAN:  IE22 BOFI 9005 9437 8289 44.  Please add the reference: "Security fund-raiser".  Alternatively, parents can put money into a bucket to be left in Ms Atkin's office from tomorrow.

This is a one-off special request and is outside of other fundraising efforts that are being undertaken by the Parents’ Association for science equipment.

We would like to clarify that the school’s insurance does not cover personal property taken in to school.
