Science week fun!
This week has been a very busy week in third class. We enjoyed exploring our scientific curiosity and became crazy scientists for the week.
By far the most popular experiment was our Dancing Raisin experiment. Here, we looked at the chemical reaction that happens when you mix water, baking soda and vinegar. It was lots of fun!
Next we experimented with flowers and food coloring. We placed our flowers in different coloured water and watched the flowers change colour as they drank the water.
We also played around with milk, food coloring and washing up liquid to see what would happen. We discovered that when the washing up liquid comes into contact with the milk it weakens the chemical bonds between the fats, proteins and the rest of the milk.
Annnnnnnd we conducted a starch test. We discovered that foods with a higher carbohydrate content has the most starch present.
As you can see we had a lot of fun this week! Watch out for our next blog post to see what we did in Art this week. 🙂
