School Reopening September 2020

We have missed you all very much and are looking forward to seeing your happy faces when you come back to us in September. We’ve worked really hard to make sure the return to school is as stress-free as possible for all of our pupils. Children are likely to see a few changes in the way school works but, in general, their day should feel very familiar. We’ve created this page to show you some of the things that will look a little different and we’d advise for you to show these videos to your children so that they get an idea of what to expect. We will continue to make preparations so that we can all be back together again in a safe and happy school after the holidays.

Parent Information:

To ensure the health and safety of everyone in Greenlanes NS and in order to reduce pupil stress, we ask your help with the following:

  • Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell or if anyone in your household is awaiting results of a Covid test.
  • Ensure that your child has correct school supplies in his/her bag. Pupils will not be permitted to share any belongings.
  • Ensure that your child has their lunch in a lunch box with a lid and he/she has a personalised bottle of water/drink. Ensure these are washed out every night.
  • Ensure that your child’s pencil case and school bag are disinfected with dry spray every night

Health Information for Parents:

Please see the following HSE/Department advice and information on when your child should stay at home and when they should return to school after illness. If you are unsure about whether or not your child should come to school we request that you contact your GP and follow GP advice. Please inform Class Teachers and Cathy H of any absences.

The following checklist may also be of use in determining whether or not your child should come to school:

If you are making the decision for your child to wear a mask in school please ensure that your child is aware of the correct mask eqtiquette.
